As requested in a recent BOB Group call – I said I’d share a video of a software tool I’d made and use to speed up doing my due diligence. I use it as a first pass inspection to see if should bother asking the seller for Google Analytics – to then dig deeper into the DD process. I then can take screen shots of everything and stick it in the BOB DD framework.
To Download
Pre-requisties
- Chrome web browser – download Chrome here if you don’t already have it
- .NET CORE v7 Runtime which you can download and install for Windows / MAC / Linux from Microsoft
Note: You only need the Runtime – the image below is just an example – the version to download will increase over time
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/7.0
You then need to download and extract the ZIP file to somewhere on your computer in order to run. It’s the same application for Windows / MAC / Linux.

To Configure
[add notes here for changing app.config file with username and password for Linkquidator / GPTZero]
Edit the config file with any text editor you have (eg. Notepad on Windows)
duediligence.dll.config
Make sure to edit the config to change your export location for the screen shots to somewhere on your hard drive.
To Run
[add notes here for how to run the software via command line on Windows / MAC / Linux]
- Open a command prompt / terminal
- Go into the directory where you extracted the Due Diligence software
- Run this command
dotnet duediligence.dll
To Update
Note: Make sure to backup your duediligence.dll.config
(if you’ve modified it) before you extract the zip file over the top of the previous version on your hard drive
- Download the ZIP
- Extract the ZIP file straight into the same location you did put it previously – overwrite all the files
